NEWS!!

Membership is live at https://zone4.ca/register.asp?id=37251&lan=1&cartlevel=1

WE NEED YOU !! as membership is directly tied to grants. The club saw a “big” drop in membership last year as did many clubs due to the lack of snow. Our membership fee is the lowest in the province. Your support helps us provide for the purchase of the snowmobile and costs in addition to maintaining trail signs(we’ve spent $600 this year), shelter upgrades( 2 new doors $600$) etc.Saskparks made some operational changes mandating that we could not assist the Park in grooming the trails(including the loppet)using their snowmobiles, even though we are insured and have done so for several decades. If we wanted to continue as a club we had to own our own snowmobile. Thus the club was at a tipping point of existence. Although we want to assist the Park in providing the best day to day trails/experience we were most concerned with the grooming for the loppet. As with any loppet there is an expectation to present the best trails that are safe and provide a great experience as possible. Soooo we scoured the used market for a used Skidoo Skandic 900, a “workhorse” snowmobile that could pull a big track setter. WE BOUGHT one west of Edmonton!!! 4 stroke, efficient/ environmentally friendly but a heavy beast! We also consulted/encouraged Saskparks to purchase a new groomer/track setter that would be better able to handle the twisty/hilly trails and they did, 96” Yellowstone Ginzu! Saskparks also committed to sending staff(club volunteers are also welcomed) to a professional development course on trail grooming, hopefully held at Duck.

LET IT SNOW!!
